Like Shape I moved most things to cash at the end of September.  Today I moved my 401K back in the market and bought the following stocks.  I got big chunks of all of these and will list them at todays closing prices.

AAPL   $97.95
RIMM   $55.75
HLIT    $7.73
GLW    $12.27
C         $16.23
BAC     $23.82
JPM     $38.49
MRK    $26.56
PFE     $16.27

I bought between $10-$20K in each of these through my wife's 401K......sure hope it works out or I will be working a few extra years instead of retiring soon.   Hell, after the beating I have taken this year I may be working a long time anyway.  Our combined 401K's are down between 19-20% YTD as of today.  As bad as that seems it is a lot better than the market.

I claim no professional knowledge or expertise ..... just a serious individual investor.

Good Luck, Outlaw. See you're going after tech, financial and pharma. I dipped back into the market on Friday with MCD (McDonalds) @ $53.92, so we shall shall see.

McD's always a safe bet.

Introducing smoothies and other drinks to the menu I hear.

I had bought 250 shares @ $53.92 and it closed Friday @ $58.75 for about $1,200. Planning to sell at the opening tomorrow, so it will be slightly different based upon overnight selling. If/when it drops below $55 in the near future I will re-buy. I love this stock since dining has trended downward due to the recent economic situation. I don't see any reason this will change in the near future.

well boys and girls it has been almost one year.....if you bought equal amounts of each of these stocks and had balls big as grapefruit and hung on to them all until now you would have come almost exactly with a 10% profit as of today 9/18/09.

Citigroup got killed, Bank of America got hurt, and Harmonic lost a little bit but the others all were winners.   Apple and RIMM led the way with huge gains but Merck, Corning and JP Morgan all did well while Phizer was just treading water.

I am out of these now and the only stock I own is General Electric which I have been buying at everywhere between $8 up to $14.  I have everything else tied up in mutual funds (domestic and foreign stock funds, domestic and foreign bond funds) and some commodity ETF's and one gold stock fund.

Personally I think there will some serious volatility on the way to DOW 13-14,000 within the next couple of years.  The next couple of years could be some serious opportunity and then inflation will kick our ass like it hasn't been kicked in a long, long time.
